Gerd T. Becht advises companies and groups on structuring, reorganization and restructuring as well as corporate organization, in particular with a focus on risk management, corporate governance, compliance and the responsibility of the management board and supervisory board. He also assists in the avoidance and settlement of extensive disputes. Furthermore, he advises investors with regard to their investments in companies and their representation in corporate bodies.
In several years as general counsel and board member of leading companies and groups in the banking, industrial and transport sectors, Gerd T. Becht has been involved in the establishment and structuring of the corporate finance division of Banque Paribas S.A, the restructuring and reorganization of the international subsidiaries of the General Motors Group, the restructuring and subsequent sale of Chrysler Inc. /Corp. from DaimlerChrysler AG, the settlement of major compliance proceedings by international and national public authorities against German corporations, and the successful settlement of major antitrust proceedings in the context of supply-chain relationships for Deutsche Bahn AG. Gerd T. Becht has been a member of boards and supervisory boards of German, British and American companies.
Gerd T. Becht is a German and internationally active lawyer. He is a member of the Frankfurt Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.
Gerd T. Becht is also managing partner of a holding company and involved in various start-up companies.
